PositionSummary
The Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse will care for labor patients before, during, and after delivery; care the newborn immediately after delivery; care the outpatient presenting to Labor and Delivery; circulate and aid in the recovery of cesarean sections. The L&D Nurse must identify complications, interpret fetal monitoring, and communicate with the physician. Must maintain high quality, must possess critical nursing skills and critical thinking, must manage complex medical cases, and must collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
Required Qualifications- Must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Must possess knowledge necessary to obtain an RN license in California.
- Must hold an active California RN license.
- Must hold current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
- Must have at least one year of recent Labor & Delivery experience.
- Must possess the essential skills, knowledge, and abilities necessary for assigned duties.
- Must demonstrate appropriate customer‑service skills.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Must accept the mandate to maintain workload‑suitable pace.
- Must establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
- Must be able to provide proof of work authorization.
- Knowledge of university and medical‑center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
