Job Title: Parts Quality Analyst
Location: Fountain Valley, CA (100% Onsite)
Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Employment Type: Temporary 1-3 Months (Covering LOA)
Compensation: $30 - $35/hr doe
This temporary role supports a large automotive parts distribution network by overseeing parts quality inspections, supplier claims, and operational reporting. The Parts Quality Analyst ensures that both current inventory and incoming stock meet quality standards by coordinating inspections, managing rework activities, and handling damaged/defective parts claims. This position also plays a key role in tracking quality metrics, resolving official quality notices, and communicating with internal teams, affiliates, and suppliers.
Responsibilities- Coordinate part inspections for current inventory and selected inbound parts across multiple distribution centers.
- Provide clear instructions for identifying, reviewing, and quarantining suspect stock.
- Collaborate with internal departments-including Help Desk, Supply, Warranty, Brands, Accessories, and Compliance-to manage inspection activities.
- Coordinate rework and relabeling processes with Packaging Engineering and other departments, including cost estimation.
- Track and report status of all active and completed inspections and part checks.
- Submit, process, and evaluate supplier claims related to damaged or defective service parts.
- Dispute supplier decisions that do not align with established policies.
- Update, maintain, and remove inspection or E‑Freeze flags in systems such as AMOS and Smartsheet.
- Manage official quality announcements by communicating with headquarters and internal partners to ensure timely completion in nMGN.
- Prepare monthly KPI reporting and support leadership with special projects or ad‑hoc analysis.
- Monitor and maintain statistics related to inspections, claims, and quality announcements.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in the automotive industry (required).
- Experience with:
- Parts catalogs
- Adobe Suite
- Smartsheet one‑line dashboards
- Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, Outlook)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with distribution centers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to track multiple ongoing tasks.
- Intermediate computer skills including email, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Ability to create process maps for operational workflows.
- Skilled in troubleshooting software or system issues and coordinating solutions as needed.
- Strong analytical and reasoning abilities to interpret detailed directions and make sound judgments.
- Capable of working efficiently in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities.
