Retail Sales Associate at Floor & Decor

Purpose:

Floor & Decor’s Sales Associates provide friendly, accurate service and assist customers in finding products to complete their projects. They help maintain a fast-paced, safe environment by keeping sales departments clean and well stocked. If you love to learn and have a passion for helping others, join us on our sales floor.

• Connect with customers, ask about their projects, recommend our products and excite customers about their purchase.
• Provide above and beyond customer service and exceed customer expectations when assisting customers.
• Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas and ensure it is clean, shoppable and safe.
• Work with management and team members to achieve sales goals.
• Process customers at checkout using point of sale (POS) system.
• Process customer refunds and exchanges according to established guidelines.
• Follow established cash, check and credit card acceptance procedures.
• Create price tags and merchandise signs. Stock, tag and display merchandise.
• Act in a manner consistent with the company’s core values and safety processes.
• Answer telephones according to company guidelines.
• Be available to assist in other areas of the store as needed.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy.

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Knowledge of basic math skills.
• Customer service experience.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure.
• Some positions may require forklift certifications through Floor & Decor.
• Where permissible by state law, certification to use heavy equipment requires successful drug test.

• Occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. Noise level is typically quiet to moderate.

• Ability to exert 30–60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20–30 pounds frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds constantly to lift or move objects. Frequent use of hands and fingers; standing, walking, reaching, climbing or balancing, and crouching as needed.
