Pay: $16.45 per hour. Eligible for Daily Pay and paid holidays, sick leave, jury duty, and bereavement leave. Employees may make pre‑tax or post‑tax (Roth) contributions to the retirement plan. Goodwill of Colorado is a PSLF eligible employer.

The Associate I, Donation Services is typically the first point of contact for customers dropping off items at retail centers and/or stand‑alone donation centers (ADC). The Associate greets customers and assists with donations, handling items with care and sorting them appropriately.

• Provides excellent customer service, greeting customers in a timely manner and answering product questions as needed.
• Assists every customer by unloading donations from vehicles or other areas.
• Ensures donated items are handled with care and sorted into appropriate bins or production areas.
• Inspects all donations within assigned areas and makes decisions on quality to sort appropriately for the sales floor or to be shipped to other locations.
• Maintains a safe, organized, and clean environment for customers and fellow employees within the donation entrance and parking lot areas.
• Maintains remote donation centers, sheds, and/or trailers when applicable, following appropriate opening and closing procedures.
• Ensures supplies are kept well stocked at remote sites as necessary.
• Tracks and reports donation levels daily to avoid over saturation of trailers or storage areas.
• Communicates timely when the donation warehouse or trailer(s) become full and a truck is needed.
• Follows all retail center/donation center policies and procedures.
• Assists drivers in loading and unloading donations onto the truck when necessary.
• Follows all safety processes and procedures to help provide a safe working environment for employees and customers.
• Co‑trains in other departments or areas; acts as a backup for other areas as required.
• May be required to report to the store ADC or stand‑alone center when necessary.
• Job duties may extend beyond the tasks listed and may include additional responsibilities as required.

Education:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Experience:

• One (1) year of retail experience is preferred.

Other:

• Must make decisions by following Goodwill standards and guidelines.
• Must have basic computer skills to log into a system, order supplies, and send/receive email.
• Must work in varying weather conditions with varying temperatures.
• Must use safety equipment to assist with lifting heavy objects such as a dolly or pallet jack.
• May need to obtain Powered Equipment Operator certification to safely operate equipment; forklift operator certification may be required.
• Ability to read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Must communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Must work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.
