Job Goals:
The incumbent reports to Site Administrator (or designee), operates under general guidelines provided by administrator, and provides a safe and secure crosswalk for students, parents & staff to cross public streets at designated crosswalks.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain good rapport with employees, students and community members.
- Assist children in crossing intersections on their way to and from school.
- Enforce state laws regarding school zones and pedestrian traffic.
- Protect safety of children at all times while on duty.
- Report student safety infractions or driver safety infractions to the administration.
- Place signs as needed and report maintenance needs when required.
- Maintain district-supplied equipment and be able to possess the strength to be able to use job-related equipment.
- Possess skills to be able to utilize basic technology as directed by the District to communicate and function effectively as a 21st century employee.
- Assist with parking lot, bus lane or other job-related duties as assigned.

- Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.

Physical Demands:
- Physical strength and coordination to operate the equipment listed and to stand and walk for up to 3.75 hours per day in all weather conditions.
- Possess adequate vision and hearing
Work Environment:
Outside in high vehicle traffic areas with inclement weather at times
Salary:
Monitors (Lunchroom / Playground / Crossing Guards) are on the Classified Salary Schedule - These positions are considered HOURLY positions and do not qualify for experience pay increments.
- These positions are paid at the minimum of the Grade 1 pay Grade Salary Schedule Employment Period:
- HOURLY as needed - NOT eligible for leave or benefits
