We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our accounting team across a broad range of day-to-day responsibilities. Reporting to the Accounting Manager and working closely with Senior Accountants, Accounts Payable, and Treasury, this role plays an important part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. The right candidate brings solid accounting fundamentals, a proactive mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.
WhatYou'll Be Doing
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger activity
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and other general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Prepare and analyze financial reports and supporting schedules
- Review financial data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies as they come up
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliations
- Book transactions and prepare reconciliations across multiple currencies including USD, CAD, EUR, and GBP as needed
- Support AP and AR functions as needed, including collections activity
- Assist with audit preparation and provide requested documentation
- Maintain accounting records in compliance with internal controls and company policies
- Identify and contribute to process improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy
- Support ad hoc reporting and projects as assigned
- 1-3 years of experience in a staff accountant or general accounting role
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Solid understanding of the P&L and balance sheet
- Hands-on experience with journal entries and account reconciliations
- Strong working knowledge of general accounting principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working in an ERP system
- Strong analytical mindset with sound judgment and problem-solving ability
- High attention to detail with solid organizational and time management habits
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively depending on what the situation calls for
- Experience with Net Suite or a comparable ERP platform
