Senior Manager– Hardware Engineering
We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Manager to lead the hardware development of our Industrial Automationoffers. This role is ideal for a senior technical leader with a strong background in electronics and mechanical system design, deep experience in safety‑critical, standards‑driven environments, and a proven track record of delivering industrial or automotive products from concept through customer release.
What will you do?
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Systems Leadership:
- Driving strong system engineering practices
- Guiding the teams in risk analysis, modelling, simulation and automation of design and verification
- Championdesign forcost,safety, reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability.
- Drive knowledge reuse,standardization,common architectures, design principles, and reusable platformstocontinuously improve standardized hardware development processes and time-to-market.
Product Development & Lifecycle Ownership:
- You will provide technical and people leadership across the full productdevelopmentlifecyclefrom
Concept and feasibilityto Customer release and field support.
- Ensure compliance with industrial and/or automotive standards (e.g., functional safety, EMC, environmental, reliability).
- Lead development in safety‑critical environments with strict regulatory oversight.
- Ensurestrictcompliance with relevant standards (e.g., IEC, ISO, UL, SIL, CE)
- Drive a strong culture ofengineeringrigor, quality, and documentation.
Innovation & Advanced Engineering
- Drive the application of AI, automation and data-driven methodsacross requirements, system design, schematics and layout, and verification testing to improve quality, safety, and speed‑to‑market in regulated industrial automation products.
People & Cross‑Functional Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop multi‑disciplinary hardware teams (electronics, mechanical, systems)
- Define and driveclear, measurable goalsaligned with the Hardware CoE mission
- Foster strong collaboration with product management,firmware,software,safety, validation, manufacturingandsupply chain teams.
- Foster a culture of engineering rigor, systems thinking, continuous improvement, and collaboration across globally distributed teams.
What qualifications will make you successful?
- Proven track record of driving end‑to‑end hardware product development, from concept and system architecture through customer release and field deployment
- Strong hands‑on expertise in electronics engineering, including analog and digital design, power electronics, embedded hardware, EMC/EMI, signal integrity, and power integrity
- Good background in mechanical engineering, including thermal management, structural design, and design for manufacturability, assembly, and serviceability
- Deep understanding of electromechanical system integration for industrial environments
- Demonstrated strength in systems engineering, including requirements definition and traceability, system architecture, interface management, designtradeoffs, and risk analysis (FMEA, FMEDA, fault tree analysis)
- Extensive experience developing products in safety‑critical and highly regulated environments, with strong working knowledge of relevant IEC, ISO, UL, CE, EMC, environmental, and reliability standards (functional safety experience is a plus)
- Practical experience with modelling, simulation, and verification methodologies, including use of structured or model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) approaches
- Strong understanding of hardware verification and validation strategies, including reliability, stress, and compliance testing
- Experience or demonstrated leadership in applying AI and data‑driven techniques across hardware development, including requirements analysis, design reviews, schematics/layout checks, test generation, and defect or anomaly detection
- Proven ability to drive automation of engineering workflows while ensuring explainability, auditability, and regulatory compliance
- Strong people‑leadership skills, with a history of mentoring senior engineers, building technical capability, and developing future technical leaders
