Summary
The Armed Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, tenants, guests, and property assets. This role conducts patrols, monitors suspicious activity, responds to incidents, and enforces security policies while carrying a firearm in accordance with state and company regulations. The position requires sound judgment, strong observation skills, and the ability to respond calmly and professionally to routine and emergency situations.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
- 6 – 8 years of prior armed security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
- Knowledge of security operations, access control procedures, and emergency response protocols.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to prepare detailed and accurate incident documentation.
- Strong observational skills with sound judgment and decision‑making abilities.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive in high‑pressure or emergency situations.
- Proficiency with computers, incident reporting systems, and general report‑writing skills.
- Completion of required firearms training and ongoing requalification.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as required by business needs.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to handle or feel.
- The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods of time.
- The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

- The noise in the work environment is typically moderate but loud on event days.
- Must be able to lawfully possess a firearm in the State of Massachusetts.
