The Sr. Accountant supports the Sr. Accounting Manager in executing accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. Performs journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Manages key accounting processes, including cash, inventory, and accounts payable, while preparing supporting schedules and reports. Analyzes financial results and provides insights to support decision‑making and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
Reports to: Sr. Accounting Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Participate in monthly close activities, including routine journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain cash balances.
- Prepare monthly commission summary and details for external sales reps.
- Process invoices for international distributors.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting, including compliance documents.
- Complete weekly analysis of shipping costs.
- Prepare post‑close departmental budget to actual files.
- Reconcile and process factory inventory bills.
- Maintain and reconcile landed costs on inventory receipts.
- Process AP payments.
- Reconcile credit card statement.
- Utilize Net Suite to report on ad‑hoc requests from Management.
- Assist in AR collections and customer credit as needed.
Competencies:
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to efficiently analyze data and prepare reports.
- Be prepared to assist other departments with projects or daily tasks.
- Work quickly and diligently through workload.
- Be able to work independently.
- Understand capabilities and workflow of Net Suite and work to increase knowledge of system.
- This role is hybrid; candidates must be able to commute to our office in Framingham, MA.
- 3+ years' experience in an accounting role.
- Experience with in public accounting or consumer goods preferred.
- Familiarity with Net Suite is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
The estimated hiring pay range for this position is $71,000 to $89,000. The successful candidate’s actual pay rate offer will take into account a wide range of job‑related factors including skill sets, years and nature of relevant experience, training, pay rates of associates in similar positions, the candidate’s location, and other organizational needs. The estimated hiring pay range has been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential.
This range does not include benefits such as health insurance, paid or unpaid time off work, and/or retirement benefits, unless required by law.
