The Co-op position is based in the Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) department supporting the activities in the Data Science and Digital Transformation (DSD) Process Modeling and Control Team. This position will focus on modeling bioreactors and cell culture processes. The candidate will have opportunities to learn about bioreactor operations and applications of digital tools in biologics process development and manufacturing.

* Main Responsibilities:
*** Modify existing simulations to adapt to process changes and better understand the cell culture process
* Use simulations and process data to identify atypical results
* Test capabilities of simulation platform and user interface for application to a new use case

* Generate documents (presentations, user guides, reports) related to learnings and achievements
** About You
**** Basic Qualifications**:
* Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Biochemistry, Computer Science, or a related field at an accredited college or university with the expectation that you will complete your current degree by the Spring of 2027
* Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship
* ** Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship

* Preferred Qualifications:
*** Knowledge of computer programming concepts (Python preferred)
* Understanding of basic chemical reaction mechanisms and empirical equations
* Understanding of basic concepts of cell growth and metabolism
* Experience with scientific literature search
