About the RoleCella is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Apparel Designer to support the creation and development of ladies' apparel-specifically focused on sleepwear, loungewear, and fleece jackets. This opportunity allows an early-career designer to collaborate directly with senior design teams and cross-functional partners to bring competitive fashion concepts from idea to production.
Responsibilities- Assist in designing and developing ladies' sleepwear, loungewear, and fleece jackets under the direction of senior design leads.
- Produce detailed sketches, technical drawings, and mood boards to communicate concepts and support quarterly product development.
- Research current fashion trends through market analysis and industry events to inform seasonal line directions.
- Participate in material, color, and trim selection; review and comment on lab-dips, handlooms, knit-downs, and strike-offs.
- Collaborate with internal cross‑functional teams, suppliers, and external manufacturers to support sample creation, prototype development, and quality production.
- Help troubleshoot technical product development issues while maintaining organized documentation across multiple active projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or equivalent industry work experience.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in ladies' apparel design, with a focus on clothing construction and technical pattern-making fundamentals.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator (InDesign and Microsoft Office suite proficiency preferred).
- Strong understanding of apparel retail merchandising, color theory, and fabric selection.
- Excellent organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and effective problem-solving and communication abilities.
