Locatedin Greater Boston, Mass Bay is a comprehensive, open-access community college,offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position SummaryThe ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community and have a desire and ability to serve a population of students with variousneeds and backgrounds. Mass Bay Community College seeks a qualified full-time faculty member beginning in fall 2026 tojoin a vibrant and inclusive educational community to educate the next generation of Health Studies professionals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching and promoting success among alllearners.
The Health Studies full-time faculty teaches courses and providesskill development didactically, which may include lab and clinical components.
Students who enroll in these courses are typically in programs such as Medical Coding, Medical Office Administrative Assistant, Medical Assistant, and Phlebotomy. Some courses are delivered online, while others may be taught inperson or in a hybrid format. The person in this role will participate in the college'sEarly College/Dual Enrollment initiatives. The candidate musthave a healthcare background and expertise suitable for teaching the coursestaught in the Health Studies department.
The candidate must be able to communicate effectively, assess students objectively, and work collaboratively asa team. The individual has obtained the appropriate certification, where applicable, and has earned an education in a health-related profession. Opportunities may exist for working withother clinical-based programs, depending on the candidate’s additional clinicalcertifications.
- Maintain a full-time workload (equivalent of 15 credit hours per term) which may include teaching in the Health Studies Programs to include classroom, clinical, laboratory courses, and simulation-based courses.
- Prepare syllabi and develop curricula for lectures, laboratory, and simulation settings to address course and program student learning outcomes and Graduation Competencies, as appropriate.
- Teach effectively in a traditional, hybrid, and/or online environment.
- Teach Early College and/or dual enrollment high school students in area high schools, including but not limited to Framingham, Millis, Waltham, and/or Milford, or at our Framingham Mass Bay campus.
- Provide instruction during high school hours of operation when necessary.
- Support the Early college/dual enrollment needs via communication and reporting between high school & college representatives.
- Serve as an academic advisor to students and maintain office hours.
- Participate in College, Division, and Program governance, including attending Division, Department, Advisory Committee, and other committee meetings.
- Participate in the assessment of course and program learning outcomes.
- Maintain a safe environment during skills training and evaluation sessions.
- Use the College’s technology platforms to effectively communicate with students and colleagues to enhance the learning experience, as appropriate.
- Engage in professional development activities to maintain excellence and expertise in classroom/ clinical/simulation teaching.
- Maintain appropriate paperwork and documentation required by the program and accreditation agencies.

- Exhibit current experience and relevancy in the healthcare environment being taught.
