Job Summary:

Summit Montessori School is seeking an energetic, creative, and dependable individual to support our Early Childhood classroom community during the school day and in our Aftercare Program. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children in a collaborative, nurturing, and engaging environment. Hours are generally 11 am to 5:30 pm. Though the work is primarily with 3-6 year olds, ability to work with our other age groups is a plus (18 months to 3 years and our Elementary program 6 - 12 years).

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring a safe and supportive environment
• Plan and facilitate engaging indoor and outdoor activities
• Reinforce classroom expectations, ground rules, and respectful behavior
• Guide and support children in conflict resolution using positive communication strategies
• Foster a calm, inclusive, and positive atmosphere in the Aftercare Program
• Collaborate effectively with faculty and staff throughout the school day
• Supports the core values of Summit Montessori School, including dedication to the School's DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives

• A child-centered, holistic approach to education
• Genuine enthusiasm for working with young children
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Openness to ongoing professional development and learning
• Maturity, responsibility, and strong interpersonal skills
• Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent); additional experience or training in early childhood education is preferred
