Located in Greater Boston, Mass Bay is a comprehensive, open-access community college, offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community and have a desire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs and backgrounds. The candidate is expected to commit to excellence in teaching and learning, collaboration and professional development. Adjunct faculty are expected to deliver course materials in a learner-centered environment conductive to engaging students in the learning process.
The faculty member in this position communicates consistently and effectively with students, faculty and administrators, and responds to communications within a 24 hour period of time. The faculty is responsible for managing this course through timely grading of assignments, providing substantial student feedback with assignments, and submission of clinical evaluations, attendance and grades.
Mass Bay Community College seeks a qualified part-time Adjunct Faculty beginning in spring 2025 and for future semesters to teach courses in Healthcare Delivery Systems, Pharmacology, Soft Skills for Medical Professionals, Electronic Health Records, Health Career Exploration, Medical Assistant, Medical Office, and Phlebotomy courses. The Health Studies adjunct faculty teaches courses and skill development didactically. Students who enroll in these courses are typically in programs such as Medical Coding, Medical Office Administrative Assistant, Medical Assistant, and Phlebotomy but individuals outside of these programs may take some of these courses.
Some courses are delivered online, and some may be taught face-to-face or in the hybrid modality.
The adjunct faculty must have a healthcare background and expertise suitable to teach the course content. The candidate must be an effective communicator, be able to assess students objectively and work as a team. The adjunct faculty has obtained appropriate certification where applicable and has earned appropriate education in a health-related profession. Opportunities exist for working with other clinical-based programs depending on the candidate's additional clinical certifications.
