POSITION SUMMARY
The Safety & Security Summer Intern will be responsible for assisting the Director of Safety and Security with a wide range of experiences and tasks relating to the safety and security of Framingham Public Schools. The student interns hired for this position should expect to gain invaluable skills and knowledge relating to safety and security in a school system. Additionally, the intern will support projects directed by the Director of Safety and Security.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Framingham Public Schools seeks candidates whose background, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging in all aspects of education.
* Educational Requirement:
Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Information Security, or a related field.
* Professional
Experience:
Practical, hands-on experience in security operations, safety compliance, or emergency services is preferred. We welcome candidates who bring perspectives from non-traditional educational backgrounds or an understanding of underrepresented experiences.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills, paired with strong interpersonal and customer service abilities. Ability to speak to parents and co-workers using clear, appropriate, and professional language.

Ability to operate and/or acquire skills to operate a computer and related software, including but not limited to the Google Suite.
* Work Ethic:
Highly motivated, creative, displaying a high degree of maturity, integrity, and capability to work independently to support district needs.
* Relationship Building & Cultural Proficiency:
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, caregivers, staff, and the community. Work with individuals and families of diverse backgrounds in an equitable, inclusive, and culturally proficient manner.
* Professionalism, Attendance & Adaptability:
Maintain regular and punctual attendance to ensure consistent department operations and district-wide support. React professionally and objectively to unpredictable situations, such as behavioral issues or environmental changes, while maintaining a proactive, reflective, and solution-focused approach.
