Dual Language English Elementary Teacher – Harmony Grove Elementary School
Framingham Public Schools (FPS) is seeking a Dual Language English Elementary Teacher for the school year. The teacher acts as a primary educator and instructional leader, delivering high-quality instruction to ensure all students achieve academic proficiency and supporting the development of the whole child, including academic, social-emotional, and mental health needs. FPS aims for high achievement, equitable access to quality instruction, proficiency for all students, and closing achievement gaps among subgroups.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations- Valid Massachusetts Teaching License In Early Childhood (Grades PreK-2) and SEI Endorsement, or
- Elementary (Grades 1-6) and SEI Endorsement (Depending on Grade Level)

- Educational Requirement: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or a related field required;
Master’s Degree preferred. - Professional
Experience:
Proven track record of delivering high-quality instruction in a diverse classroom; experience in a school district or educational setting is required. - Language Proficiency:
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is encouraged.
- Differentiated Instruction:
Design and implement Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions for diverse learners, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, and English Language Learners. - Data-Driven Decision Making:
Analyze standardized and formative assessment data to track growth and adjust instruction. - Social-Emotional Learning (SEL):
Integrate SEL to support the whole child and a safe, inclusive classroom culture. - Content Pedagogy & Foundational
Skills:
Knowledge of evidence-based practices to ensure mastery of core concepts. - Restorative Practices:
Use restorative justice techniques to manage behavior constructively. - Curriculum Alignment:
Align lesson plans with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district goals. - Adaptive Technology Integration:
Use Google Classroom, interactive whiteboards, and instructional software to enhance engagement. - Collaborative Leadership:
Work within PLCs and multidisciplinary teams to support student success. - Cultural Proficiency:
Foster an equitable and inclusive environment for staff, students, and families. - Professionalism & Composure:
Maintain regular attendance and professionalism in high-stakes situations.

Design a comprehensive program of study and individual lesson plans aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district goals; deliver high-quality instruction using research-based practices; utilize Universal Design for Learning (UDL); provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions; leverage interactive technology for personalized learning.
Create a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom; establish proactive routines; use restorative practices; ensure accessibility for all learners.
Implement formative and summative assessments; analyze data to identify gaps; provide growth-oriented feedback; maintain accurate records.
Collaboration:
Engage with students, families, and community partners; participate in PLCs and multidisciplinary teams; communicate progress clearly to families with language access; support school-wide policies.
Engage in ongoing professional development; participate in staff meetings and committees; supervise educational support staff and volunteers.
Reports To:
Building Principal (and/or Designee). Evaluated under applicable contract terms.
FLSA Classification:
Exempt (Professional).
Terms of Employment: 185 days (Ten-Months); contract details governed by the Framingham Teachers Association (Unit
A).
