Coordinator of Expanded Learning (ELT) Early Education Site

Framingham Public Schools Department of Expanded Learning Time – Framingham, Massachusetts –  School Year

Position Summary

Responsible for planning, supervising, and implementing high‑quality before‑ and after‑school programming for preschool & pre‑K students, managing a complete OST program, supporting staff, coordinating with community partners, overseeing daily operations, addressing student needs, planning events, and ensuring a safe, equitable learning environment.

Education & Experience
  • Educational Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field preferred;
    High School diploma required.
  • Professional

    Experience:

    Minimum 2 years as an out‑of‑school‑time professional or educator; at least 1 year administrative experience overseeing program operations; experience designing, developing, implementing, and improving curriculum; experience working with diverse populations; supervisory experience.
  • Preferred Experience: Awareness and experience with public school policies and systems.
  • Language Proficiency: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations
  • Specialization/licensure in Early Childhood Education, Special Education and/or ESL, preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR licensure, preferred.
  • Safety Care certification, preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities I. Daily Program Operations
  • Design and oversee daily programmatic schedule in compliance with staffing ratios.
  • Respond to injuries and incidents; document per policy.
  • Oversee budget, purchasing, and supply management.
  • Coordinate with school nurse for health needs, medication documentation.
  • Coordinate snacks, meals, attendance, rosters, and fee collection.
  • Manage and submit weekly staff payroll; ensure accurate timekeeping.
  • Attend monthly meetings with building leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental, district, and staff policies.
II. Family, Youth and Community Engagement
  • Serve as primary point person for caregiver questions and concerns.
  • Plan and host events, workshops, and showcases for families.
  • Recruit students via multiple channels including social media and outreach.
  • Connect caregivers with internal and external resources, including vouchers and scholarships.
  • Provide opportunities for youth to inform program design.
III. Staff Coaching and Supervision
  • Hire, onboard, and supervise all staff; manage coverage in absence.
  • Support staff development through meetings, coaching, and performance reviews.
  • Assist new staff orientation in collaboration with Department.
  • Facilitate open communication, restorative conflict resolution, and model behavior standards.
IV. Curriculum Development and Implementation
  • Collaborate with group leaders to design developmentally appropriate play‑based learning.
  • Meet with school staff to identify shared educational priorities for participating students.
  • Embed extension of school‑day curriculum content during out‑of‑school activities.
  • Develop and facilitate special programs (early release days, vacations, summer learning).
