Expanded Learning Time (ELT) Summer ESL Teacher
Location:
Framingham, Massachusetts – Serve at Stapleton Elementary School for the 5‑week Summer 2026 program.
The Teacher provides high‑level instructional support to Site Coordinators, designing and delivering engaging ESL lessons across the four language domains and facilitating enrichment activities for district Multilingual Learners. The role requires exceptional instructional leadership, strong differentiation skills, and the ability to maintain a safe, inclusive environment.
Qualifications- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, TESOL, Linguistics, or related field.
- Teaching
Experience:
Proven experience teaching elementary‑age Multilingual Learners and creating interactive language‑focused lessons. - Certification: ESL/TESOL certification or teaching license preferred.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese strongly preferred.
- Other: Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
- Communication & Presentation:
Clear oral/written communication and effective presentation. - Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving:
Data analysis to inform student success decisions. - Relationship Building & Cultural Proficiency:
Equitable, inclusive engagement with diverse families. - Professionalism, Attendance & Adaptability:
Punctuality and proactive response to behavior or environmental changes. - Organizational Management:
Independent planning and multitasking. - Compliance & Confidentiality:
Knowledge of FERPA, etc. - Instructional Leadership:
Team collaboration and coaching. - Technology:
Utilization of Google Workspace and instructional technology.
- Plan and deliver engaging, interactive ESL lessons aligned with student proficiency levels.
- Develop and implement activities supporting all four language domains.
- Co‑teach and facilitate enrichment activities with Summer Scene staff.
- Monitor student language growth and provide regular feedback.
- Maintain attendance records and communicate with leadership and DME.
- Conduct proactive family outreach to support attendance and engagement.
- Attend all compensated planning meetings and training sessions.
- Cultivate a positive, inclusive, culturally responsive classroom environment.
- Document program incidents and maintain a safe environment.
- Motivate and mentor students toward rigorous language goals.
- Mobility & Navigation:
Move frequently throughout school buildings and grounds. - Stationary Tasks:
Perform administration and data entry. - Technology & Data:
Input digital and printed data. - Manual Dexterity:
Operate technology; handle instructional tools. - Physical Strength:
Lift up to 20 lbs; occasionally up to 40 lbs. - Sensory Requirements:
Continuous vision and hearing. - Working Environment:
Moderate‑to‑high noise levels; maintain focus. - Crisis Management:
Engage and redirect students with challenging behaviors. - Physical Stamina:
Manage active behavioral interventions; supervise during emotional dysregulation. - Interaction Level: Kneel, crouch, crawl to engage early‑childhood students.
- Hygiene & Safety:
Exposure to bodily fluids may occur in early childhood care.
- Program Duration: July 6 – August 7, 2026

Schedule:
8:00 AM – 3:30 PM - Mandatory Planning Sessions (Compensated):
- June 17, 2026: 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM at Farley (DME Office)
- June 29, 2026: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Location: Stapleton Elementary School
- Attendance: Full‑day attendance and commitment to entire 5‑week session required.
- Contractual Status: Covered under Framingham School Committee Contract
- Operational Flexibility: District may transfer personnel based on enrollment or needs.
