Job Description:
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The coordinator will track completion of Massachusetts Test for Educator Licensure (MTEL) exams for all students enrolled in licensure programs at the undergraduate, PBTL, and graduate levels; assess student support needs related to MTEL completion; and communicate these needs to the Education Department chair, coordinators of the graduate programs (PBTL and M.Ed.) leading to licensure, the Field Placement and Licensure Office, and other departments as appropriate.
The MTEL coordinator will oversee the implementation of MTEL workshops and support the university.

EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule and promote MTEL Prep Workshops each semester and oversee enrollment for graduate programs
- Consult with the education department chair on the needs for the undergraduate MTEL course needs
- Recruit and support MTEL preparation instructors in preparation and implementation of face-to-face and online formats.
- Oversee the MTEL Voucher Program in conjunction with other departments, to provide MTEL vouchers to students in financial need
- Offer information sessions for students about the MTEL registration process, MTEL alternative pilot programs, MTEL accommodations for extra time, and other requirements
- Meet one-on-one with students to support MTEL registration, assist students in accessing their MEPID number, share study strategies, and share the essential test for each candidate.
- Receive, maintain, and analyze MTEL data to access trends, student needs, and compliance with department and university policies
- Facilitate non-credit MTEL workshops as needed

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors' degree in education or related field
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative academic environment
- Experience working with educator licensure programs and/or familiarity with the Massachusetts Test for Educator Licensure (MTEL)
- Experience coordinating workshops, trainings, or academic support programs (in-person and/or online)
- Three or more years working in a public school
- Proficient in maintaining accurate and reliable data systems
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism
- Familiarity with state educator licensure systems (e.g., ELAR/MEPID) and related processes
- Experience supporting undergraduate and/or graduate students in an advising, coaching, or student services role
- Candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Portuguese are strongly encouraged to apply.
This is a part-time, non-benefited contract position, not to exceed 18 hours per week. The scheduled hours are flexible. The pay rate is $40 per hour.
