The Special Education Early Education Teacher serves as a primary educator and instructional leader, delivering high-quality instruction to ensure all students achieve academic proficiency. This role supports Framingham Public Schools’ strategic goal of fostering the development of the “whole child” by advancing academic, social‑emotional, and mental health needs and closing the achievement gap among all student subgroups.

Framingham, Massachusetts, is a vibrant, diverse suburban community located 20 miles west of Boston. Its schools serve nine elementary, three middle, and one high school, with dual language programs, comprehensive special education services, and a commitment to preparing all learners for college and careers.

• Valid Massachusetts Teaching License – Early Childhood (Grades Pre‑K‑2) and Moderate Disabilities (Grades Pre‑K‑2 or Pre‑K‑8)
• SEI Endorsement

• Educational Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education or related field;
  Master’s Degree preferred.

  Experience:
  
  Proven track record of high‑quality instruction and managing a diverse classroom; experience in a school district or similar setting required.
• Language Proficiency: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred.

• Differentiated Instruction: Ability to design and implement Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions for students with IEPs, 504 plans, and English learners.
• Data‑Driven Decision Making: Proficiency in analysing standardized and formative assessment data to track growth and adjust instruction.
• Social‑Emotional Learning (SEL): Expertise in integrating SEL frameworks to support the “whole child.”

  Deep knowledge of evidence‑based instructional practices for core concepts.
• Restorative Practices: Skill in using restorative justice to manage behavior and resolve conflicts.
• Curriculum Alignment: Ability to align lesson plans with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district goals.
• Adaptive Technology Integration: Mastery of Google Classroom, interactive whiteboards, and educational software.
• Collaborative Leadership: Effective teamwork within PLCs and multidisciplinary teams.
• Cultural Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to foster an equitable and inclusive environment for all.
• Professionalism & Composure: Punctual, predictable attendance and professionalism in high‑stakes situations.

• Plan a comprehensive program of study that meets preschool learners’ individual needs.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials aligned to the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
• Employ instructional methods that ensure all students access high‑quality pedagogy.
• Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate to preschool students’ maturity and interests.
• Maintain a classroom culture that is inclusive, equitable, and safe.
• Assess student performance regularly, monitor progress, and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of student development per district policies and legal requirements.
• Consult with students, families, and partners to foster collaborative student success.
• Participate actively in Professional Learning Communities and multidisciplinary teams.
• Communicate student progress, challenges, and achievements timely to parents and guardians in an accessible language.
• Collaborate with administration to implement school‑wide policies and initiatives.
• Commit to ongoing professional development and antiracist pedagogical practices.
• Contribute to community through staff meetings, committees, and extracurricular support as directed.
• Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for educational support staff and volunteers.
