QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid Massachusetts teaching license in the area of study is preferred.
  • Experience in teaching the specific field with appropriately aged students.
  • Professional experience operating within a school setting.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Apply knowledge of current research and theory in the educational field to support student enrichment.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and responsively—both orally and in writing—with staff, parents, and the general public.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and recommend appropriate actions to ensure student success.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple program streams and tasks simultaneously.
  • Work with students and staff of diverse backgrounds with diverse needs in an equitable, inclusive, and culturally proficient manner.
  • Maintain professional awareness of district goals, state/federal regulations, and school board policies while managing confidential records.
  • React calmly, professionally, and objectively to unpredictable situations such as environmental changes, behavior/aggression, or seizure activity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues through shared planning or informal conversation to analyze student performance and development.
  • Support the creation of effective academic, behavioral, and social/emotional learning experiences for students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging co‑curricular instructional activities and enrichment lessons aligned with the approved program goals.
  • Actively execute the program curriculum or project plan to ensure a high‑quality, structured, and meaningful learning experience for all participating students.
  • Promote and encourage student participation and consistent attendance in the program.
  • Ensure activities meet the minimum frequency and length as defined in the Framingham Teachers Association (Unit A) contract.
  • Complete and submit the mandatory program questionnaire provided by the Department of Expanded Learning Time.
  • Track and document student participation data accurately and consistently.
  • Complete and submit the required stipend tracking log on a weekly basis.
  • Work closely with the Expanded Learning Time (ELT) Coordinator to secure appropriate space for program activities, if applicable.
  • Inform the ELT Coordinator promptly of any modifications to schedules, space allocations, or the frequency of activities.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, welcoming, and culturally responsive learning environment during all program hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.
