Special Education History Teacher
Location:
Framingham, MA Contract | Full-Time $50–$55/hour

Summary
Seeking a Special Education History Teacher to support students ages 12–18 in a therapeutic educational setting. This role combines history instruction, classroom leadership, and student support within a structured, relationship-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach History and Social Studies to students in grades 6–12
- Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons
- Serve as Homeroom Teacher for an assigned student group
- Support students with academic, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, clinicians, and support staff
- Maintain student records and progress documentation
- Participate in team meetings and educational planning
Requirements
- Massachusetts Moderate Disabilities License (Grades 5–12)
- OR Massachusetts History or Social Studies Teaching License with experience in therapeutic, alternative, or correctional education settings
- Experience supporting students with emotional, behavioral, or academic challenges
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred
- Therapeutic school experience
- Self-contained classroom experience
- Trauma-informed education experience
- Experience supporting students with emotional disabilities
