Special Education Teacher for the 18-22 Connect Program Connect Program - Farley Building
The Special Education Teacher for the 18-22 Program (CONNECT) provides critical instructional and transitional support through a sub-separate service model, leading a specialized environment to ensure students achieve success in post-secondary education, employment, and independent living. In this role, the teacher acts as a lead transition specialist, delivering a combination of direct instruction and practical, real-world experiences specifically designed for young adults with disabilities.
This role is essential to Framingham Public Schools' day-to-day operations and strategic goal of fostering the development of the "whole child" by facilitating community-based learning, including internships, travel training, and functional academics. This commitment aligns with Framingham Public Schools' high expectations for achievement, providing equal access to specialized instruction, and ensuring students gain the necessary confidence for greater independence in adulthood.
The 18-22 Program provides comprehensive support for students with disabilities as they transition to post-secondary education, employment, and independent living. This program offers students opportunities to develop essential skills for success in these areas through a combination of direct instruction and practical, real-world experiences. Participants engage in community-based learning, including internships or employment opportunities, travel training, and functional academic instruction, ensuring they gain the knowledge and confidence necessary for greater independence and achievement in adulthood.

Valid Massachusetts Teaching License in:
- Moderate Disabilities (5-12) and SEI Endorsement.
Training and Experience
- Educational Requirement: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field is required;
Master's Degree preferred. - Professional Experience: Proven track record of delivering high-quality behavior intervention and managing diverse, high-needs classroom environments. Experience in a sub-separate or specialized school district setting is required.
- Language Proficiency: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is encouraged.
