Marie Philip School – Elementary division (Exempt/Salary, 11-Month) seeks dynamic, charismatic and energetic educators to support deaf and hard of hearing students in an ASL/English bilingual, bicultural educational model. The role involves creating a positive classroom community, planning instruction, assessing student learning, and supporting individualized education goals.

Responsibilities- Establish an organized physical space and a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Use formative and summative assessments to drive instruction.
- Plan instruction, engage learners, and employ appropriate instructional strategies.
- Monitor student understanding and adjust instruction, materials, or assessments as needed.
- Utilize available resources to reflect on and improve professional knowledge and practice.
- Write annual IEP goals, monitor progress quarterly, and attend IEP meetings.
- May be delegated medication administration or certain medical procedures for a student under the teacher’s care.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Department Supervisor.

- Massachusetts State Teacher Certification (or certification from a reciprocal state)
- Master’s Degree in Deaf Education
- Minimum conversational fluency in American Sign Language required; native or near-native ASL preferred
- Prior experience working with children preferred
- ASL classes may be required based on ASL fluency
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively within a team
- At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
- Bachelor degree preferred
