Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community and have adesire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs and backgrounds. Faculty members are responsible for developing educational an devaluation materials consistent with the philosophy and framework of the program, Mass Bay Community College, and, as applicable, accreditation,licensure, and specialty requirements, in accordance with the MA Office of Emergency Medical Services and CoAEMSP.
The faculty member is responsible for maintaining a current OEMS or NREMT license/certification and expertise in emergency medical services.
Come join our CAAHEP-accredited Paramedicine Program. Mass Bay Community College seeks a qualified full-time faculty member to educate the next generation of Emergency Medical Services professionals. This faculty member will demonstrate a passion for teaching and promoting success among a diverse student population. Faculty teach courses in the classroom, skills lab, and simulation laboratory in both the EMT and Paramedicine Programs. Online teachingmay be part of this role.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency inusing electronic learning platforms to facilitate student learning and work aspart of a team, a passion for collaborative work with diverse faculty, staff,and students, and the ability to positively influence, mentor, and work with adiverse student population in the Emergency Medical Services program.
Key
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintaina full-time workload, which may include teaching in the EMT and Paramedicine Programs, including classroom, clinical, laboratory, and simulation-based courses;
- Preparesyllabi and develop curricula for lectures, laboratory, and simulationsettings to address course and program student learning outcomes and graduation competencies, as appropriate;
- Teacheffectively in a traditional, hybrid, and/or online environment;
- Serveas an academic advisor to students and maintain office hours;
- Participate in College, Division, and Program governance, including attending
Division, Department, Advisory Committee, and other committee meetings; - Participate in assessment of course and program learning outcomes;
- Maintaina safe environment during skills training and evaluation sessions;
- Usetechnology effectively to communicate with students and colleagues and enhance classroom learning, as appropriate;
- Engagein professional development activities to maintain excellence and expertise in classroom/clinical/simulation teaching;
- Maintain appropriate paperwork and documentation required by the program and accreditation agencies;
- Carryout other related duties as assigned by the Dean, consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Current,active MA and/or NREMT Paramedic certification without restriction/in good standing;
- Experience commensurate with the job qualifications listed;
- An associate degree from an accredited college or university, or comparableyears of experience, and a commitment to complete a bachelor’s degree froman accredited college or university within two years of hire;
- Current AHA, BLS and ACLS certification;
- If the applicant only has their NREMT Paramedic, they must be able to obtain their
Massachusetts Paramedic within 30 days of hire; - Within one yearof employment, individuals who do not possess the required qualifications must obtain all necessary instructor credentials relevant to the position. These may include, but are not limited to:
Instructor/Coordinator; ACLS/BLS/PALSInstructor.
Preferred Qualifications:
