Located in Greater Boston, Mass Bay is a comprehensive, open-access community college, offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community and have a desire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs and backgrounds. The candidate is expected to commit to excellence in teaching and learning, collaboration and professional development. Adjunct faculty are expected to deliver course materials in a learner-centered environment conductive to engaging students in the learning process.
The faculty member in this position communicates consistently and effectively with students, faculty and administrators, and responds to communications within a 24 hour period. The faculty is responsible for managing this course through timely grading of assignments, providing substantial student feedback with assignments, and submission of clinical evaluations, attendance and grades.
Mass Bay Community College seeks a qualified adjunct Central Processing Clinical Instructor for current and future semesters. The successful candidate will join a vibrant, inclusive educational community and demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a varied student population. This role supports continuity in the clinical program by serving as a point of contact for students and clinical partners, monitoring student records and progress, and ensuring adherence to college and healthcare partner protocols.
The instructor conducts scheduled daytime clinical visits and helps ensure the program aligns with Mass Bay's Central Sterile Processing (CPT) curriculum and clinical documentation requirements. The position requires close collaboration with the Surgical Services program director and CPT faculty to support efficient program operations. The instructor may occasionally attend evening labs to connect with students and help coordinate clinical assignments.
Candidates must have experience and certification in CPT or Surgical Technology, communicate effectively, evaluate students objectively, and work collaboratively as part of a team.
Semester, Days, Times:
Fall 2026, Spring 2027, Summer 2027;
Clinicals (Visit students weekly during the daytime in clinic –Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays
-variable schedule). This work is compensated hourly at the DCE rate stated below.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide students with a structured approach to organize paperwork for their attendance, clinical, and other required clinical documents;
- Visit students during clinicals during the daytime and check in with preceptors about their progress;
- Communicate effectively and promptly with program officials on students' academic progress and needs;
- Participate in evaluating courses and program learning outcomes;
- Track student progress, contribute to the accreditation/compliance reporting, and annually/ regularly assess the program;
- Adhere to established college, program, and hospital protocols and procedures, including the college calendar and deadlines;
- Stay current about developments in the profession on the adjunct's own time;
- Use the College's technology efficiently to effectively teach, assess, and communicate with students;
- Carry out additional responsibilities as delegated by the Dean or their representative;
