This Role Is for Teachers Who Want More If you went into Special Education because you wanted to make a real difference — and somewhere along the way found yourself buried in standardized testing mandates, overcrowded classrooms, and paperwork that had nothing to do with your students — this is worth reading. Arbor Associates is placing a Special Education Teacher at a DESE-approved Chapter 766 therapeutic day school in Framingham, MA, serving adolescents and young adults ages 12–22 who have been referred by their home districts because a traditional public school setting wasn't the right fit for them.
These are students who need a teacher who sees them as individuals — and a school built to support that kind of teaching. Smaller class sizes, an integrated clinical team, and a campus designed specifically for this population mean you can actually do what you were trained to do. This is a placement through Arbor Associates. Whether you're looking for a defined-term contract role or want to explore a longer-term path, we can talk through what makes sense for where you are in your career.
You'll Do
- Deliver individualized special education instruction across core academic subjects to students ages 12–22 with emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with the school's clinical, residential, and administrative teams
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning profiles and therapeutic needs of your students
- Participate in team meetings, clinical consultations, and transition planning with district liaisons and family members
- Maintain accurate IEP documentation, progress notes, and compliance records in accordance with DESE Chapter 766 requirements
- Contribute to a structured, therapeutic classroom environment that prioritizes both academic growth and social-emotional development
- $28–$30/hr — competitive rate paid weekly through Arbor Associates
- Smaller class sizes — you'll know your students, not manage a crowd
- Integrated clinical and residential support — you are not the only person in this student's corner
- School-year calendar — summers off, consistent schedule, no rotating shifts
- DESE-approved Chapter 766 setting — structured, compliant, and built for this population
- Placed through Arbor Associates — dedicated support from day one through placement close
- Medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD/AD&D, and sick time available for qualifying employees
