Business Dev. Manager

Seeking individual to focus on business development, proposal preparation and estimating for Heavy Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Contractor. This role requires leveraging industry connections and relationships to identify and procure private sector work. Must be capable of preparing budget estimates, providing clients with support through preconstruction, overseeing qualification packages and technical writing, and working with other estimators to bring a project to fruition.

• Develop project pursuit strategy with Area Operational leadership supporting corporate strategy.
• Attend and participate in industry outreach, networking, and informational events to gain local contacts.
• Maintain connection with key owners and agencies.
• Oversee administrative effort to help achieve shortlist selection and create responsive SOQ submittals.
• Organize and maintain pursuit list and regularly communicate to team and upper management.
• Track the pursuit process to ensure submittal is compliant and delivered by deadline.
• Prepare and negotiate designer agreements, subcontractor agreements, and Joint Venture (JV) agreements, compliant with company policies.
• Follow corporate guidelines and procedures for estimate pursuits.
• Work with estimating team to prepare pricing for pursuits. Prepare budget estimates that are reviewed by Chief Estimator and work with estimating team on final pricing.
• Quantify risks and opportunities, including as part of a review of contract plans and specifications, and other client requirements.
• Assist in the development and mentorship of junior to mid-level team members.

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field
• 10+ years of experience in Construction.
• 3+ years of experience in Business Development.
• Experience in estimating projects independently preferred.
• Preferred areas of construction experience:
  Bridges, Roadwork, Site Development, Deep Foundations, SOE, Wastewater, Trackwork, Geothermal, Renewable Energy Electrical Power and Communications, Mechanical
• Success oriented driven with strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Strong understanding of commercial contract terms.
• Able to travel throughout New England.

Compensation Range: $160,000 - $200,000
