Position Overview
Energy Engineering Co‑Op – Worthington, Ohio – full‑time May to August 2026.
Responsibilities- Assist the Ameresco Engineering team on development and execution of energy efficiency projects.
- Provide support, reports, and documentation required by Management for projects, including technical and other support to sales, engineering, and operating functions.
- Help analyze utility data, audit facilities, complete energy efficiency calculations, compile ECMs, and help sell or implement projects; may assist controls team with controls installs.
- Utility Analytics – input and analyze historical utility bill information, regression analysis, benchmarking, and calculate incremental utility rates.
- Implementation – assist lead Energy Engineers and Project Developers in identifying and implementing cost‑effective Energy Efficiency projects that pay for themselves (e.g., Lighting, HVAC, Controls, VFDs).
- Recovery Services – help clients recoup investments on past, current, and future Energy Efficiency projects, including utility programs and grant programs.
- On‑Site Generation – assist clients in designing, owning, and operating on‑site generation systems (e.g., Cogeneration, CHP, WER, Solar, Wind).
- Energy Efficiency Consulting – help clients problem‑solve complex energy efficiency problems such as audits, assessments, measurement & verification, and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Working toward a B.S. or M.S. in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering; M.S. in Renewable Energy Engineering a plus.
- Working toward B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Civil, Industrial, Environmental, or Computer Engineering also considered.
- Must be able to work from Worthington, Ohio office and travel 1–2 hours from Columbus as needed.
- Experience working in energy field, especially lighting, HVAC, controls, building envelope preferred.
- Proven ability to gather, input, validate, and analyze quantitative data.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal, written, technical communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and business relationships.
