Job Description
DSP Engineering Manager – On‑The‑Go (OTG) DSP Team, Consumer Audio Engineering – Bose Corporation (Framingham, Massachusetts)
Responsibilities- Lead technical direction and architectural decisions for OTG DSP systems, ensuring quality, scope, and execution balance.
- Own DSP delivery commitments for Premium Consumer Business Unit development programs.
- Advance DSP infrastructure, frameworks, and tool chains across OTG products with emphasis on reuse, scalability, and sustainability.
- Represent the OTG DSP team within the enterprise‑wide audio technology center of excellence and influence the platform‑based operating model.
- Partner with Product Management to align technology priorities with product and business needs.
- Collaborate closely with embedded firmware teams to co‑design system‑level architecture and delivery.
- Work with systems engineering, research, user experience, and peer engineering leaders to deliver integrated solutions.
- Advocate for DSP priorities and trade‑offs across disciplines and business units.
- Coach, support, and develop a team of experienced DSP engineers, managing day‑to‑day priorities and removing obstacles.
- Foster a culture of trust, accountability, and inclusion, and support individual career development.
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of industry experience in DSP, audio, or related domains.
- 3+ years of experience managing technical staff with increasing scope.
- Strong background in DSP engineering for consumer audio products (audio playback, noise cancellation, voice pickup).
- Experience leading technical teams through complex delivery, prioritization, and organizational change.
- Systems‑level thinking with ability to evaluate technical, organizational, and schedule trade‑offs.
- Proven ability to influence technical direction across disciplines.
- Experience with machine‑learning systems applied to audio or signal processing and integration of ML‑based approaches into production DSP systems.
- Demonstrated interest in growing team capability in ML‑based audio technologies, including hiring and development.
- Clear, effective communication skills with engineers, cross‑functional partners, and business leaders.
Salary range: $179,000 – $246,050 (Framingham, Massachusetts). Additional compensation includes bonus programs, 401(k) plan, health and welfare benefits, and employee discount.
