Facilities Scheduler (Utilities)
Job Description
The Facilities Scheduler (Utilities) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing preventative and corrective maintenance activities for critical utility systems. This role ensures minimal disruption to manufacturing operations while maintaining compliance with regulatory and reliability requirements.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain weekly and long-range schedules for utility-related maintenance activities.
* Coordinate work orders for HVAC systems, clean utilities (WFI, purified water, clean steam, compressed air), and plant utilities (chilled water, boilers, cooling towers, electrical systems).
* Balance preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance (CM), and calibration activities.
* Ensure proper sequencing and prioritization of work based on the criticality of systems, production schedules, and risk and compliance requirements.
* Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as Hexagon or Blue Mountain.
* Create, update, and manage work orders, job plans, equipment records, and preventive maintenance schedules.
* Track backlog, schedule compliance, and completion rates.
* Ensure accurate documentation for audit readiness.
* Collaborate with facilities & utilities technicians, outside vendors, manufacturing/operations teams, quality assurance (QA), and engineering and validation teams.
* Align maintenance activities with production windows and shutdowns.
* Coordinate shutdowns, outages, and major maintenance events.
Essential Skills
* Ability to build optimized weekly and long-range maintenance schedules in Excel.
* Balancing PMs, corrective work, and emergent tasks.
* Understanding of resource loading and sequencing.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Facilities Management is nice to have.
* High school diploma is a must-have.
* 3+ years of experience in facilities scheduling, planning, or maintenance coordination.
* Experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
* Experience with CMMS systems such as Infor or Hexagon.
* Understanding of utility systems and critical infrastructure is nice to have.
* Go-getter attitude.
* Ability to influence without power.
Work Environment
This position is based onsite in Framingham, MA, with a Monday to Friday schedule. The role involves collaborating with various teams and requires presence in a regulated manufacturing environment focused on pharmaceutical development and production.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Framingham, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
