Position Overview

We are searching for a Land Surveyor I (Entry‑Level). The land surveyor will work with all aspects of land surveying including Boundary Retracement Surveys, Topographic Surveys, Existing Conditions Surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Subdivisions, and Construction Layout.

Responsibilities
  • Support surveying and mapping activities for boundary surveys, topographic mapping and construction staking projects.
  • Utilize creativity, foresight, and judgment in anticipating and solving technical problems.
  • Maintain good working knowledge of survey procedures, quality control, and legal principles.
  • Assist Civil Engineers in planning, coordinating, and controlling field operations, and coordinate with CAD operators in completing office computations and mapping.
  • Communicate and coordinate with clients and consultants.
  • A successful candidate must have the ability to effectively manage deadlines and budgets.
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Land Surveying.
  • A.A. or B.S. in Surveying (or in a related field) from an accredited university is desirable.
  • Registration as a Surveyor in Training (S.I.T.) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with new survey technologies, surveying mathematics and principles, and proficiency with robotic and conventional Total Stations, Data Collectors and RTK GPS is required. Experience with Leica and Nikon equipment is a plus.
  • Processing and drafting using Civil 3D is preferred. Laser Scanning experience, OSHA and MBTA ROW Certifications are plusses.
