Engineering Technician

Talascend is currently seeking an Engineering Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Framingham, Massachusetts.

Overview

This role involves supporting engineers on technical projects by collecting, maintaining, organizing, and manipulating technical data. The position includes creating and modifying prototypes, preparing engineering documentation, and performing mathematical calculations according to engineering specifications. It is a junior level role suitable for individuals with basic knowledge of engineering tasks who are still developing their understanding of company policies and technical aspects.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers on technical projects by collecting, organizing, and manipulating technical data
• Create, build, assemble, modify, and repair prototypes
• Prepare engineering documentation, reports, drawings, sketches, flow charts, diagrams, and schematics
• Perform mathematical calculations as required by engineering specifications
• Conduct data analysis following provided guidelines
• Recommend alternative solutions to technical problems and obstacles
• Set-up and conduct tests, record data, and assist with engineering analysis
• Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data
• Interact daily with supervisors, peer groups, and customers, exchanging factual information

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent
• 1+ years of business-related experience
• Basic knowledge of technical data management and prototype handling
• Ability to follow established procedures and perform mathematical calculations
• Effective communication skills
