- Administers and manages all ventilator care, continuous positive pressure breathing, weaning techniques, and artificial airway care. Set up changes and monitors associated equipment.
- Performs chest physical therapy, chest percussions and vibrations, postural drainage, incentive exercises, and ambulation exercises as indicated.
- Performs clinical diagnostic and pulmonary function tests, such as bedside spirometry and other selected tests.
- Assesses patient respiratory status, observes patient adjustment/reaction to therapy, and evaluates the appropriateness of all therapy.
- Maintains all necessary patient and departmental records; enters clinical data regarding therapy administered and its effect.

- Required:
- Education:
Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Therapy program required. - Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience in an acute care setting preferred. - Licensure/Certification:
- Certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- It is strongly encouraged that CRT therapists advance to RRT within 2 years of employment.
- Maintains current licensure by the State of Massachusetts as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Maintains current BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications once obtained.
- New hires are required to obtain BLS prior to providing direct care to patients.
- Additional certifications as listed are required within 1 year of employment.

Previous neonatal & pediatric experience preferred.
