This role provides direct clinical patient care. The RN will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, and implementing direct clinical care for assigned patients on a per‑shift basis. The RN supervises staff to which appropriate care is delegated and supports the CNO to ensure high‑quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
Responsibilities- The RN provides high‑quality, safe, cost‑effective, total nursing care to all patients and assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
- The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control with the goal of discharging the patient with an optimum level of care.
- Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
- Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster.
- Knows the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
