As a Manager In Training, you'll learn to effectively manage the daily operations of a Cumberland Farms convenience store under the guidance of our top leaders. This role supports the Store Manager and team members to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Training Process

During the official training weeks, Managers In Training work alongside Training Managers, gaining insights and best practices for managing convenience store locations. During interceding supervisory weeks, you will apply your leadership training by working various shifts with team members. Once training is complete, you will join our bench leadership team and help fill roles during absences until you are assigned to your own store.

Your Responsibilities
  • Greet guests with a warm welcome and a smile, ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Assist the Store Manager in building and developing a strong store team through training, scheduling, and coaching. Lead the team by setting clear and measurable goals and ensuring accountability through effective communication.
  • Monitor product levels on the sales floor, rotating stock, and maintaining inventory levels as our guests expect to find us fully stocked at all times.
  • Oversee quality control, merchandising, and food safety programs in locations that offer hot food.
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the store; delegating tasks to ensure that all areas, including the coffee station, food service area, and bathrooms, are spotless.
  • Efficiently operate the cash register.
  • In locations that offer hot food, assist the Store Manager by overseeing quality control, merchandising, safety programs, and other operational guidelines. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Store Manager or District Manager.

Minimum Education

High School or GED

Serv Safe/Food Safety certification is a plus but not mandatory

Scheduling

This is a full-time position with varying hours, including days and nights, as Cumberland Farms locations may be open 24 hours a day. Weekend and holiday hours are required.

Hours & Conditions

Full-time with a maximum of 40 regular hours and up to 5 hours of overtime required.

Travel

5%. Ability to deliver deposits to the bank independently (where applicable) and possess a personal vehicle for this purpose.

Physical Requirements

Ability to maneuver and regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds. The ability to stand/walk for 8 hours a day; reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, reach, grasp, grip, and work in cooler (cold conditions). The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.

Other

Specialized attire is required in food establishments (hats or visors, gloves, etc. provided).

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are sharing the base salary range for this position. Final pay within this range will be based on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
