The Norfolk Companies is seeking a skilled Carpenter II to support our building materials and remodeling divisions in Dorchester, MA. In this role, you will construct, install, and repair wood and composite structures, cabinetry, doors, and finishes for residential and light commercial projects. You'll read blueprints, measure and cut materials, operate hand and power tools, and ensure high-quality workmanship that reflects our commitment to craftsmanship and customer service.

Working in a collaborative, family-founded environment, you'll partner with designers, sales, and warehouse teams while following strict safety standards and building codes. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to grow skills and advance across our New England divisions.

Responsibilities

  • Construct, install, and repair wood and composite structures for customer projects and displays
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to plan carpentry tasks
  • Measure, cut, and assemble materials using hand and power tools safely and accurately
  • Install cabinets, doors, trim, shelving, and fixtures for kitchen, bath, and remodeling jobs
  • Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and adherence to company standards
  • Collaborate with designers, sales, and warehouse teams to meet project timelines
  • Load, unload, and organize materials, ensuring proper handling and storage
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, safe condition
  • Communicate professionally with customers and contractors on-site
  • Follow all safety protocols, policies, and building codes
