Engineering Operations Leader – Audio Technology

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Operations Leader to drive the successful delivery of customer‑focused audio software, tuning, and services within our Audio Technology Licensing organization. This role supports the organization’s evolution toward a more software‑centric delivery model while ensuring high‑quality audio tuning and technical services globally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program & Delivery Leadership:
    Provide end‑to‑end oversight of customer‑focused project delivery across multiple time zones and global geographies. Lead and scale a global team of program managers and coordinate with specialized engineers.
  • Drive the transition toward a software‑focused delivery model, applying best practices in software program execution, planning, and lifecycle management.
  • Establish and continuously improve delivery processes, metrics, and operating rhythms for predictable execution across a diverse portfolio of software‑ and services‑based programs.
  • Cross‑Functional Engineering Operations:
    Partner with engineering functions to manage dynamic priorities, resource constraints, and interdependencies across customer programs.
  • Translate commitments into clear executable plans balancing software development timelines, service delivery needs, technical feasibility, and capacity.
  • Identify delivery risks and bottlenecks, particularly within software development and integration, and drive mitigation plans with engineering leaders.
  • Executive & Business Reporting:
    Provide structured reporting to leadership on program status, delivery health, risks, and progress against goals.
  • Customer Engagement & Expectation Management:
    Lead or support customer‑facing meetings, anchor discussions in realistic, data‑backed assessments of capabilities and schedules.
  • Business Development Partnership:
    Work closely with Business Development to support early‑stage customer engagements, provide scope, schedule, and resource estimates during Vision and Ideation.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Proven experience leading engineering operations, program management, or delivery organizations with significant exposure to software development.
  • Demonstrated success overseeing global teams across US, China/APAC, and EU delivering complex, customer‑facing programs.
  • Experience managing or supporting delivery of software‑centric technologies, ideally in audio software, signal processing, tuning tools, or embedded software platforms.
  • Strong executive communication skills and capability to present program status, performance, and revenue forecasts to senior leadership.
  • Track record of effective cross‑functional collaboration among engineering, product, and business development teams.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments undergoing transition to scalable, software‑driven models.

  • Understanding of software delivery life cycles, planning, and execution.
  • Experience with Agile project management and JIRA/Atlassian tools.

  • Clear, concise communication at all organizational levels.
Qualifications
  • BS in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of project management experience and 5+ years of people management with globally distributed staff.
  • Consumer audio experience a plus.
Compensation

The hiring range for this position in Framingham, Massachusetts is $179,000–$246,050. Compensation is thoughtfully tailored to skills, experience, education, and location and includes base salary, bonus programs, comprehensive health and welfare benefits, a 401(k) plan, and employee discounts.
