Senior Accountant

Arctic Snow and Ice Control & Deness Leasing are looking for a full time Senior Accountant that will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for two extremely busy companies. Located in Frankfort, Illinois, we have a casual office environment with 40 hours/ week employement. This position is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of financial information, filing monthly sales tax, performing cash projections, and assisting with corporate analysis.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently, maintain a GL, analyze trends, and be able to audit and consolidate data from multiple sources while complying with GAAP.

• Monthly closing and reporting of site level financial statements and analysis within established time requirements
• Journal entries, daily banking transactions, ACH, and wire transfers.
• Back up posting cash payments and following up on customer receivables.
• Performs monthly reconciliation of site level bank and credit card statements and various balance sheet accounts.
• Maintaining fixed asset records.
• Assist with month-end and year-end audit activities.
• Submit HSA and 401K contributions on behalf of our employees
• Review and provide analysis on the profitability of operations in both Arctic and Deness.
• Work closely with Controller to identify and implement actions to improve workflow and processes in the accounting department
• Work with the sales team to ensure accurate and timely invoices and collection of outstanding balances.
• Performs ad hoc and excel analysis as requested by management.
• Utilize ADP Workforce Now when recording payroll expenses, filing 401K payments, and HSA contributions.
• Assist in the implementation of new ERP system

• Masters degree in accounting and minimum of 7 years’ professional experience in a similar role.

• Minimum 10 years’ accounting experience with a full range of accounting activities for a small-midsized company including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, balance sheet reconciliations, month end closing and reporting of financial statements
• Effective communication and time management skills.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to details.
• Must be able to multi-task, be organized and efficient.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and other MS Office applications
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now reporting.
• Experience with Epicor Kinetics is a plus. Currently utilizing Greentree.
