Landscape Architect

Founded in 1973, DJ&A is a multidisciplinary professional services consulting firm with office locations in Montana, Colorado, Washington, Florida, New Mexico, and Illinois. Our team of more than 180 professionals works across the country to deliver a diverse range of engineering, environmental, survey, mapping, landscape architecture, and planning projects for federal, state, local, tribal, and private clientele.

DJ&A’s Civil Engineering & Design (CE&D), in partnership with our sister company - Robinson Engineering, is seeking a Landscape Architect to join our growing team in the Chicagoland area. This position plays a key role in leading and delivering local and regional landscape architecture and site development projects while serving as a trusted advisor to long-standing and emerging clients. Please note:

This position may be contingent on the award of a master services contract; however, qualified candidates are encouraged to apply regardless, as additional opportunities may be available.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary internal teams and external consultants.
  • Take ownership of project outcomes by leading with integrity, clear communication, and a commitment to delivering quality work that serves both clients and communities.
  • Contribute to QA/QC reviews to ensure accurate, thoughtful, and high‑quality deliverables that reflect our commitment to never compromising on quality.

Client Engagement & Business Development

  • Serve as a trusted LA advisor to municipal clients, providing responsiveness and thoughtful solutions.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with prioritized local public works and parks & recreation focused clients, including municipalities and county governments.
  • Build trust through responsive service, follow‑through, and transparent communication, serving as a long‑term partner rather than a transactional consultant.
  • Support business development efforts through proposal development and client meetings.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services and strengthen long‑term client partnerships, with a focus on expanding our landscape architecture practice into the Chicagoland area.
  • Mentor and support emerging engineers and project managers.
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful, and quality‑focused team environment.
  • Contribute to a respectful, inclusive team culture where people feel supported, challenged, and valued.
