Special Education Teacher in Frankfort, IL

Make a meaningful impact this upcoming school year as a contracted Special Education Teacher, supporting students in the Frankfort, IL area. This full-time position spans the  school year, running Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 3:15 pm. Step into a nurturing classroom environment focused on either Autism support or a transition program, working alongside a dedicated team to provide quality education and support.

• Valid and current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
• Active LBS1 endorsement required
• Experience working with non-verbal students, particularly in autism or transition settings, is preferred
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere

• Manage a caseload of 8 students with unique needs, primarily non-verbal
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student
• Work collaboratively with 2-3 paraprofessionals in the classroom to ensure student success and engagement
• Adapt lesson plans and instructional approaches to meet diverse learning styles
• Maintain accurate student records and progress reports
• Communicate effectively with families, support staff, and administration
• Contribute to a positive, empowering classroom environment
