Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make an impact in education as a Certified School Nurse (CSN) or Registered Nurse (RN) for the 2026/2027 school year. This contract position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive health services to students while working in a collaborative environment alongside a supportive team of RNs. As the sole CSN in the district, your expertise will be highly valued, and you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring student wellness and safety.

• Active Professional Educator’s License (PEL) in Illinois with Certified School Nurse endorsement
• Registered Nurse (RN) credentials
• Background in school nursing, student health services, or pediatric care is preferred
• Familiarity with special education processes, including IEPs and 504 plans
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

• Serve as the lead Certified School Nurse for the district, acting as a resource for health-related matters
• Conduct hearing and vision screenings for students in accordance with state requirements
• Maintain, update, and contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and student health plans
• Collaborate with a network of district Registered Nurses to deliver coordinated healthcare support
• Offer assessment, health education, and care for students with acute or chronic health needs
• Document all procedures accurately and maintain compliance with district and state guidelines

• Work within a supportive, multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals
• Gain valuable experience by managing a district-wide role while staying connected to a network of nursing colleagues
