Located in our Frankfort, IL facility and reporting to the Superintendent, the Sheet Metal Journeyperson will install duct systems and air conditioning systems. This includes boilers flue, general exhausts systems, measure fittings or materials.
Responsibilities- Installs duct systems, air conditioning systems, and all duct work.
- Coordinates installation of HVAC duct systems, exhaust, and ventilation systems.
- Runs jobs and assigns daily tasks and measure crew productivity.
- Verify measurements and field conditions.
- Ensures proper installation methods and quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specs, and shop drawings.
- Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
- Assist with other work in coordination with repair and maintenance teams.
- Generate change orders and work orders that address customer needs.
- High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years of Sheet Metal Work and completion of Sheet Metal Program.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems.
- Communicate effectively with internal team and customers.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Diagnose and resolve problems, follow written and verbal instructions, read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material, and perform math.
- Ability to use hand and power tools.
This job operates primarily in teams on HVAC systems in all environments, which includes extreme cold or heat depending on the time of year. Vehicles are used as the base of operations.
Physical DemandsMust be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including electronic and diagnostic tools, recovery equipment, and various other HVAC equipment. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials. This position requires: stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, seeing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those of medium work.
