Elementary Intervention Teacher

The Elementary Intervention Teacher is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering targeted Reading and Math interventions to students through both push-in and pull-out instructional models. The position collaborates with classroom teachers, special education staff, instructional coaches, and administrators to identify student needs, implement evidence-based interventions, monitor student progress, and adjust instruction to improve academic achievement. The Intervention Teacher also provides leadership and oversight for a team of intervention paraprofessionals, ensuring the effective and consistent implementation of intervention services across the elementary school.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and deliver evidence-based Reading and Math interventions for students requiring supplemental academic support.
• Provide instruction through push-in and pull-out service models based on student needs and established intervention plans.
• Utilize assessment data, progress monitoring tools, and diagnostic measures to identify student needs, develop intervention plans, and evaluate student growth.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education teachers, administrators, and other support staff to coordinate interventions and ensure alignment with grade-level instruction.
• Participate in MTSS/RTI meetings, problem-solving teams, and data review meetings to support instructional decision-making.
• Maintain accurate records of student participation, intervention services, assessment results, and progress monitoring data.
• Assist in developing intervention schedules that maximize instructional time and efficiently utilize staff resources.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to intervention paraprofessionals, including assigning responsibilities, modeling instructional strategies, monitoring implementation, and providing ongoing coaching and support.
• Monitor the fidelity and effectiveness of intervention programs and instructional practices.
• Communicate student progress and intervention outcomes with teachers, administrators, and families as appropriate.
• Support the implementation of district curriculum, intervention programs, and assessment initiatives.
• Participate in professional development activities and remain current on research-based instructional practices in literacy and mathematics intervention.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or district administrator.

Qualifications:

• Valid state teaching license with elementary certification.
• Reading and/or Mathematics intervention experience preferred.
• Training or experience in MTSS/RTI frameworks and evidence-based intervention practices preferred.
• Experience analyzing student assessment data to inform instruction.
• Experience supervising, coordinating, or leading instructional support staff preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of elementary literacy and mathematics instructional practices and intervention strategies.
• Knowledge of MTSS/RTI processes, progress monitoring, and data-based decision making.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs.
• Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff, families, and administrators.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and support intervention paraprofessionals in implementing effective instructional practices.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with district policies and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary educational team.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to move throughout the school building and between classrooms.
• Ability to supervise students in classroom and small-group settings.
• Ability to lift and carry instructional materials and equipment as needed.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
