Position: Title 1 paraprofessional position

Title I Paraprofessional

The Title I Paraprofessional provides instructional and classroom support to teachers and students participating in the Title I program. This position assists in delivering academic interventions and supplemental instruction designed to improve student achievement, particularly in reading and mathematics. The paraprofessional works closely with teachers and staff to support a positive and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers with implementing instructional activities and lesson plans for students receiving Title I services.
  • Provide small-group and one-on-one academic support in reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Reinforce classroom instruction and learning objectives under the direction of certified staff.
  • Support students with assignments, skill practice, and intervention activities.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate observations to teachers and program staff.
  • Help maintain a positive, safe, and organized learning environment.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, instructional materials, and educational resources.
  • Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, and other designated times.
  • Encourage positive behavior, engagement, and student confidence.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and information.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
  • Support school-wide initiatives and Title I program goals.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree, completion of two years of college coursework, or passing score on a state-approved paraprofessional assessment may be required.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic instructional strategies and child development principles.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and families from diverse backgrounds.
