Engineering Co-Ops / Interns - Frankfort, Indiana
$23.50/hour to $33.50 depending on year level
Tenneco is seeking a driven, self-motivated engineering focused student who has an interest in gaining hands-on experience working at our fast-paced manufacturing facility located in Frankfort, IN. This position will follow either the three-session or five-session co-op rotation, rotating every semester between work and school OR an internship, which can be continuous throughout the school year. The students will gain a wide range of manufacturing process knowledge including engineering, metal stamping, metal treatment, synthetic rubber manufacturing and processing, compression molding and more.
We are seeking: (4) four Co-Ops or Interns to work one-on-one with our Manufacturing Engineers; at least (1) one Chemical Engineering Co-Op or Intern to work with our Rubber Engineering Manager; (1) to (3) Co-Ops or Interns to work one-on-one with our Production Supervisors, and (1) one Co-Op or Intern for Quality.

As a co-op or intern student working with Tenneco, you will be an active member on your team, working with full time employees, making contributions to solving real problems.
PossibleResponsibilities Include:
- Updating and maintaining drawings/prints.
- Reporting out findings and next steps on assigned projects.
- Developing support tooling/equipment to manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshooting equipment, compiling and analyzing data to drive process improvements.
- Writing work instructions.
- Supporting full time manufacturing engineers.
- Supporting production supervision.
- Supporting rubber engineering manager.
- Researching and pursuing opportunities for cost reduction and profit improvement for the plant through the use of Lean Manufacturing principles.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must be able to work independently and in a team-based environment.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Student currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor s Degree from an accredited institution.
- Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver s license.
- Ability to provide own transportation to/from the job site.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Student currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor s in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited institution. Other Engineering or Technology disciplines would be considered.
