We are looking for an experienced MAINTENANCE MECHANIC to join our Frankfort, IN plant. This is a full‑time position Monday to Friday (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM) with likelihood of overtime. This is not a building maintenance position. This position requires experience in industrial maintenance. We offer competitive benefits and salary, an additional $1.00/hour shift premium plus up to $1.00/hr increase after 90 days.
You will be responsible for ensuring our customers' satisfaction by achieving maximum up time on our manufacturing equipment. You will also work closely with all departments in the facility, including Production, Shipping, and more. Role Responsibilities:
- Knowledge in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
- Install, repair and maintain plant process machinery including mixers, packers, motors, pneumatic tools & systems, and conveyor systems and provide detailed written description of work performed.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting to determine source of problem, and correct the issue once identified.
- Operate light mobile equipment such as forklifts, portable welding machine, man‑lifts, and skid loader.
- Ability to provide breakdown reports, parts usage, and the ability to read electrical and mechanical diagrams.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment per assigned schedule.
- Some facility maintenance may include plumbing, sheetrock work, carpentry, etc.
- Ready and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Safety-minded with thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and of related safety practices.
- Remarkable sense of urgency.
- Great work ethic and impeccable attendance.
- Ability to understand technical service manuals and maintain basic records for repair work done.
- PLC practical experience and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
- Ability to perform assigned tasks properly and in a timely manner.
- Ability to operate personal computer and knowledge of basic computer applications, including computer generated parts and service manuals.
- Maintain a current state Driver’s License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
- Good communication and interpersonal relationships.
- Capable of working in confined spaces.
- Must be able to work overtime, on‑call duties when necessary.
- Able to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb.
- Must be able to perform heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally; and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently; and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Candidates with Knowledge on NEC and NFPA codes and standards preferred.
