The RN is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents and supervising the day‑to‑day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Supervision is conducted in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the facility, and as required by the Director of Nursing to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

• Direct the day‑to‑day functions of nursing assistants; meet with nursing staff and support personnel to plan shift services, programs, and activities; provide written and oral reports as required; admit, transfer, and discharge residents; and provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to the unit/shift.
• Complete and file required recordkeeping forms and charts for resident admission, transfer, and/or discharge; transcribe physician telephone orders and record them on the Physician’s Order Form; chart nursing notes descriptively; fill out and submit accident/incident reports to the Director; perform routine charting duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter‑departmental personnel and other departments within the facility to ensure nursing services and activities are adequately maintained; create a warm, personal, and calm environment throughout the unit and shift; receive and give the nursing report upon shift start and end; make rounds with physicians as necessary.
• Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings and bandages, colostomy management, drainage bags, blood taking, massages, and range‑of‑motion exercises as required.
• Monitor assigned personnel to ensure adherence to safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies.
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information; report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure; ensure privacy in nursing care and reverence for resident room access.
• Provide IV and IV site care as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Registered Nurse with a current, unencumbered state license.
• Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Knowledgeable in nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Experience in long‑term care is preferred.

• Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday.
• Capacity to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
• Meeting general health requirements set forth by facility policies, including medical and physical examination.
• Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
• Might be required to assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
