Job Overview
Electrical and Instrumentation Technician based at our plant in Frankfort, IN. Responsibilities include planned preventive and predictive maintenance on process control and related electrical instrumentation/equipment to ensure reliability of plant equipment and overall achievement of site KPIs.
Responsibilities- Providing electrical maintenance services, including work with motors, breakers, starters and switch gear.
- Providing instrumentation maintenance services including troubleshooting, configuration, installation, documentation, checkout, and commissioning of instrumentation and valves.
- Maintaining instruments as built and electrical P&IDs MOC implementation.
- Executing predictive, preventative, and reliability‑centered maintenance programs.
- Ensuring compliance with OSHA PSM regulations and participating on the plant’s PSM Team.
- Conducting ISO and critical instrument calibration, including management of calibrated maintenance instruments.
- Participating in Covestro’s Behavior‑Based Safety Program.
- Attending required HSE‑related training.
- Participating in periodic comprehensive HSE inspections as required by Department Management.
- Complying with all HSE policies and procedures.
- Understanding and following Covestro Critical procedures at a minimum awareness level and operationally when applicable.
Maximum lifting/carrying of 50 lb. Must climb ladders and may be required to exert reasonable force on wrenches. Work may require awkward positions, tank entry, wearing respirator, line breaks, grinding, welding, use of band saw, and pipe fitting.
Basic Qualifications- High school diploma and 2+ years’ of plant maintenance experience in configuration, calibration, installation, application, maintenance, and/or troubleshooting industrial instrumentation.
- Associate’s degree from a two‑year community college or technical school with an emphasis in instrumentation or equivalent experience.
- Experience with PLC, DCS, and process instrumentation.
- Valid state Journeyman's license.
- Familiarity with requirements of Safe Work Permit system.
- Reasonably effective written and verbal communication with co‑workers and supervisors.
- Documentation of Maintenance Procedures and PM check sheets.
- Flexibility in accepting new responsibilities and expectations as business focus changes.
