The Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet advances education, workforce development, and economic opportunity across the Commonwealth. The Cabinet provides education and training programs, employment and reemployment services, unemployment insurance, and disability determination services to help Kentuckians gain skills, find work, and maintain economic stability. It partners with education providers, workforce boards, and employers to align training with labor market needs and oversees labor programs that promote fair and safe workplaces.
This is a federally funded time‑limited (FFTL) position. The position will have access to confidential and sensitive information. The successful candidate will be required to safeguard all confidential and sensitive information and complete trainings, sign acknowledgments, and follow all policies pertaining to information security while employed and after employment ends.
- Provides overall administrative support to OUI.
- Drafts and prepares various reports, memos, and letters for requests from claimants, employers, and attorneys made to the Executive Director's Office.
- Creates complex reports on UI data.
- Assists in compiling information for state and federal audits.
- Provides assistance and guidance to temporary employees on questions for incoming correspondence, claimants, info requests.
- Processes complex open records requests and maintains a tracking system.
- Reviews, coordinates and gathers information for open records request in accordance with KRS 341.190.
- Ensures requests are completed by required timelines.
- Issues response of approval or denial of request.
- Sends subpoenas to Legal Services in a timely manner for their review.
- Stays abreast of agency memorandum of understandings with outside organizations for releasing information.
- Assists claimants and/or employers regarding issues with their unemployment claim.
- Accesses KEWES and KyNet for claimant and/or employer information and enters information into database.
- Determines and resolves issues for issues.
- Reviews employer returned correspondence and creates issues as necessary. If issue is determined to be system related, escalates to the helpdesk.
- Examines claimant and employer base period wages for accuracy.
- Provides information to the claimant, the employer and the public pertaining to UI and other workforce programs.
- Answers phones and emails, sorts and distributes correspondence throughout the Office of Unemployment Insurance and maintains filing system.

- Education: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
- Experience, Training, or

Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience. - Substitute Education for
